 Lesson Attendance and Tuition Payment

 This is my policy for missed lessons. Please read it carefully and keep this for future reference. When I cancel your lesson, you do not pay. When YOU cancel a lesson, you still pay for it as if you were there. I do not offer make-up lessons. 

 If you plan in advance to be gone for more than 2 lessons in a row (as in a family vacation in the summer) you will only be required to pay $10.00 per lesson to cover studio overhead.

 Tuition rates:

30-minute lessons are $45.00 each

45-minute lessons are $67.50 each

60-minute lessons are $90.00 each

 Tuition will be due on the 10th of each month. Late fees ($20) start when your payment does not reach me by the 11th. Your options for payment are: bring or mail a check (made out to Christina Mixemong) or pay through Venmo (@christina-mixemong, cell 3193217962). Invoices will be sent by email on the 1st.

 Registration Fee/Facilities Service Fee

 There will be a one time $25 registration fee due with the first month’s invoice. Then each September there will be a facilities service fee of $25 added to your invoice. These fees allow me to pay for recitals and other costs for the studio as a whole.

Flex Days

 There will be 6 days throughout the year that I will be able to take as flex days. Think of it as paid time off. These will be used for personal and/or family time. They will be spread out by semesters and summer term. Two days during fall semester (September 1-December 31), two days during spring semester (January 1-April 30), and two days during summer term (May 1-August 31). You will be notified when these days are taken as soon as I decide to take them. When I contact you to cancel the lesson I will say, for example, “I am canceling your lesson for today because my son is sick. It will count as Flex Day 1 for spring semester.”

 Expectations

 You must practice 6 out of 7 days each week. If you do not practice regularly, you will not learn as quickly as you should. Practice journaling is greatly encouraged. A short practice session every day is much more helpful than a marathon session the night before your lesson.

Cancellation

 When you wish to terminate as my student you must provide a two-week notice. If you do not give me two weeks you will still be responsible for paying for two lessons beyond the last meeting. If you wish to terminate lessons with me, you must notify me directly.

  Virtual Lessons

 In cases of illness (any symptoms of any contagious infection) and bad weather we will have virtual lessons. If the teacher/student is feeling well enough to participate in a lesson, going virtual is a great way to avoid missing lesson time. Virtual lessons will only be offered due to illness, weather, or for students who live outside the Iowa City/Coralville/North Liberty metro area.
